Q

Are you manufacturers or just installers?

With a medium-sized factory in North London, we
are manufacturers and installers of UPVC and aluminium windows, single doors, double doors, patio sliding doors, bifolds and conservatories. This helps us to keep costs down instead of buying the products in. It also means the client deals directly with the manufacturer, cutting out the middleman. Our products are manufactured using British-made profiles.

Q

Do you have a showroom?

At the time of publishing
this leaflet we do not have a showroom. We engage ourselves mostly in direct production. For this reason we believe observation of the production factory’s process is the best form of showroom. Visit us and see the quality in production. This is our invitation! Get in touch with a representative to arrange a visit.

installation

Q

How long will installation take?

Before installation, the time for preparing the work area must be taken into account. This can take upto an hour in some cases. Thereon, each window can take upto 1-3 hours to fit depending on the style, size and features. Doors will normally take 3-5 hours, again depending on various factors. A typical 3-bed house with 6 windows and 2 doors will normally be completed within 2 days. A bifold alone can take upto a whole day.

Q

Will scaffolding need to be erected to install the windows?

Almost all the time, except where the property is New Build and there is an existing scaffolding structure, we will install your windows and doors from inside the property, thereby saving you hundreds and even thousands of pounds.

Q

Do you fit trickle vents on windows and doors?

We are Fensa registered so means we will fit vents on windows and doors where necessary in order to comply with the building regulation guidelines. This is a standard procedure, unless you specifically request we do not install them. If so, please be advised that your Fensa certificate may be in jeopardy.

Q

What do you do with the old windows?

Following installation, we will remove all the old frames, unless you ask us to leave them on site, and dispose them them at a designated area in the factory yard. The waste is separated into several components; pvc, aluminium, glass, timber and general waste. While most materials are recycled to be used again in the industry, general waste is sent with a licenced waste collector.

Insulation & environment

Q

Is your production environment friendly?

We use recycled materials to manufacture our PVC and aluminium windows and doors. In addition, we recycle any offcuts and plastic debris so they can be used again. Our process ensures that our any waste produced from the works are disposed at our factory skip, which is provided by a licensed waste firm.

Q

What are your window's energy rating?

A home’s energy rating is determined by the efficiency of not only windows and doors, but also roof, walls and flooring too, not forgetting the general heating system. As such, a windows energy rating comprises the efficiency of the profile, glass feature and installation method. We provide A, B and C energy rated products depending on our client’s requirement and budget.

Q

Will the new windows prevent condensation?

Condensation is defined as the physical process by which a gas or vapour changes into a liquid. Regarding windows and doors, it is the difference in temperature between the internal and external environment, and the glass, that causes condensation to form. It is not a manufacturing fault. However, if condensation develops inside (between) the two or three panes of glass that make up the unit then this means the unit is faulty and should be replaced.

Q

Do you provide solutions for sound and heat efficiency?

Yes. There are a range of solutions to deal with these issues. For sound, this will usually involve upgrading to acoustic or triple glazing. For heat, although our standard frames and glass makeup are usually sufficient, clients may wish to upgrade to triple glazing and warm-edge thermoseal units. Our standard glass already features Argon Gas, and Low-E, which helps prevent the loss of heat.

Security

Q

What options do you have for security locks?

We provide different levels of security locks on windows and doors, all of which are manufactured to British Standards. For windows; single or double mushroom and shootbolts. For doors; multi-point locks, autolocks.

Q

Why is internal beading important for security?

Beading is a strip that is applied to the edge of the window to keep the glass or panels in firmly in place. Nowadays, home security is an important matter. Unlike external beading, internal beading on windows and doors makes it unreachable from outside and one-step harder for breakins. Otherwise, external beading can be removed using basic tools.

Q

Are your door panels reinforced?

Yes. Instead of the traditional and basic 28mm thick panel with just foam filling, our door panels, whether design or plain, is reinforced with 4mm MDF to give you that extra bit of security and piece of mind. It also adds to the sound reduction quality of the frame.

Q

How many keys will I get?

Window openers are supplied with 1 key each. All window keys are the same and can be cross-used. As for doors, you will be supplied with 3 keys specially for use with the door cylinder supplied. Additional keys will need to be copied by the homeowner.

To see some reviews, please get in touch with a representative.

Q

What after-sales services do you provide?

We know that after-sales care is as important as the installation itself. For this reason, and in addition to the guarantee, we have developed systems and processes to assist clients that may be experiencing issues. On completion of PVC and aluminium installations, we send out relevant documents such as “how to maintain your windows and doors?” and any insurance backed guarantee paperwork.

Q

Do I need planning permission for double glazing?

Unless your house is listed, in a conservation area, in a flat or a building under an Article 4 Directive, you shouldn’t require planning permission so long as the new windows are of similar appearance. However, we strongly recommend you contact your local authority prior to any home improvement projects in case you may need permission.

Quotes & Orders

Q

What is included in my quotation?

We provide two main types of quotes depending on your requirements; supply only or supply and install. If your quote is for supply and install then, unless otherwise stated, the quote will usually include the frames, glass, compulsory accessories (handles etc), installation, architraves, delivery and disposal of old windows and doors. Please ensure that any non-standard activity or specific requirement is recorded on your contract.

Q

Can you price-match a lower quote?

We are confident that our prices are considerably low whilst maintaining a high quality standard. However, if you find a cheaper quote, we will price-match the offer
so that you benefit from our services.

Q

How long is my quote valid for?

In general, our quotes do not have such deadlines like a “30-day term”. Provided there has not been a hike in prices from our suppliers, we will be prepared to accept a quote from the past, even if it has been over a year. If we are unable accept the quote then we will let you know what the new quote will be.
